IC1F-26_2026_00011127 – Individual Artists
This grant will allow me to create and experiment in the continued development of my “Box Set” series. I incorporate word-play in much of my work and my title for this series, Box Set, plays on the term used to describe musical collections.
These works invite the viewer to actively participate in the artistic expression and communication by holding, considering, viewing and acting on it, unlike many traditional works of art that allow only for viewing.
It is this interplay between art and viewer that makes it an involving experience but also, possibly, transforming as it offers the viewer part of a puzzle or gives them a proposition that they will likely form there own answer to before viewing the solution I offer.
A previous example of this type of work can be found in my piece, God Is – God is Dead, where the second part of the piece is hidden by the first, much like a veil spoken of in temples or other religious spaces.
The unique and involving nature of this work has received a positive response. The first work in the series, “Art is an Inside Job”, personally commissioned by art collector, Joe Clare, was well received and my first “print” of “Without Sin” was purchased soon after production.
I’m hoping this series will further expand public awareness of my work as found in the “Box Set” and beyond.
The following photographs and video of these works is in visual support of this application.
Art is an Inside Job
Love is Everywhere
This piece enforces my core belief that Love is the only real force at work in life.
For the Sinless
This dramatic piece illustrates one way to overcome our most negative emotion, hate, which really springs from fear.
