Happy Face Series

Seeking to visually represent my belief that Love has no opposite, I  replaced the dots of opposites found in the Yin and Yang symbol with Happy Faces to  illustrate there is something that encompasses and surpasses the duality of good and evil.

Recognizing the Happy Face as a universal symbol for peace and, later, wisdom; I imagined the symbol placed at apt places on various works of art. My first in this regard was to cover Flagg’s face of Uncle Sam and rework the text of his famous poster to read, “I want You for World Peace”. Thus my Happy Face Series was born.
