Marketing Assistant – Durabuilt

Dear Durabuilt hiring decision maker(s):

Please consider me in your search for a Marketing Assistant. I believe I have the skills and experience you are looking for.

While operating my direct-mail advertising franchise, Val-Pak, in Nanaimo, BC, I provided customers with quotes and estimates for an all-inclusive service that included promotion design, leaflet printing, distribution, and redemption analysis. This business depended directly on making cold calls to small and medium size business owners. As owner, I negotiated all sales contracts.

While the Marketing Manager for T-MAR Industries in Campbell River, I promoted the company’s existing inventory of logging products from log loaders to road builders to grapples and helped promote new products additions. My duties also included conducting customer surveys; producing advertising copy, brochures and videos; purchasing company swag and launching the company’s newsletter, The T-MAR TimesI was also project manager for the company’s annual booth at the Truck Loggers Convention and for the company’s participation in DEMO 2000, a “live forestry exposition in the BC interior.

Note as well, my extensive experience as a writer/editor for The University of Calgary and trade publications like Nanaimo’s Business Examiner and Canadian Forest Industries Magazine.

After 10 years of teaching internationally, I returned to Canada in 2012 and settled Prince George, BC where I launched my WordPress website to highlight my creative abilities in writing, photography, art, music and video production.  I use my blog to promote my art and my philosophy that life is an essentially positive experience. I have a working knowledge of MS Office, Illustrator, Photoshop and Movie Studio. While in Prince George, I worked as a Licensed Property Manager. Part of my duties included arranging for housing repairs.

I believe my experience and abilities in communications, marketing, advertising and graphic design combine to make me an ideal candidate for this position. Accordingly, let me suggest we meet to discuss the contribution I could make to Durabuilt Windows in filling this important role.
