Art Recruits Coordinator – PHS

Please consider me in your search for an Art Recruits, Program Coordinator.

I believe I have the passion for art, work experience in mental health, organizational skills and communications/marketing capabilities you are looking for.

My passion for the arts, led me to complete a B.Ed. in Art Education at the University of Alberta, which, in turn, took me to five different countries teaching the subject. When I returned to Canada in 2012, I launched my website jamesmillercreative.com to highlight my creative talents in painting, photography, videography, music, writing and graphic design. My art emphasizes the positive and my Happy Face Series is a good example.

My mental heath work includes years spent with the Prince George Association for Community Living (AiMHi) and Thomson Community Services working in group homes with people facing a variety of physical and cognitive challenges with autism being just one example.

My organizational skills have been used in a variety of positions including my ten years of teaching, work as a licensed property manager and in operating my own direct-mail advertising franchise. I have served as a Communications Officer for The University of Calgary, a daily reporter, an Editor, and a Marketing Manager.

Where has all this vast array of work experience and talent got me? Since moving back to Edmonton in April 2021, I worked with Bissell Employment as a day-laborer, laying sod, tearing out bathroom walls and installing solar panels, to name a few. My big break came while working as a janitor for Edmonton’s Mustard Seed in homeless shelters through the winter. I currently provide janitorial services for a firefighting camp through Horizon North, in High Level.

I think we should meet to see if I’m a good fit for the unique position you’ve created and invite you to contact me in that regard.
