Please consider me in your search for a Handcrafted Sign Maker.
I believe I am an ideal candidate for this position and suggest one way to confirm that is to view the webpage equivalent of this letter, which provides samples of my art and creativity:
My passion for working in wood began in junior high school in Edmonton where an excellent “shop” instructor taught and inspired us in working with wood. I still have the hand polished mahogany bowl created in that class.
My passion for the arts, led me to complete a B.Ed. in Art Education at the University of Alberta, which, in turn, took me to five different countries teaching the subject. When I returned to Canada in 2012, I launched my website to highlight my creative talents in in working with a variety of media, including wood, paint, photography, videography, music, writing and graphic design.
Soon after my return to Canada, I located to Prince George, where I completed a number of art commissions for Timberspan Wood Products, including this large work, The Spirit of Prince George, 2015, carved from Douglas Fir, using a laminate trimmer.
This gallery explains the details of the work’s carvings.
This work led me to create several other pieces using this handy tool, including this sign for Gregor Farm.
For Teach Only Love (carved again in Douglas Fir) I used a laminate trimmer and multicrafter to carve out the letters, which I then illuminated from behind with LED lights.
You ask for a steady hand. With that in mind, I invite you to view this video created while I painted another work, 2012 and my sign, hand painted for North Side Automotive.
As mentioned, I feel I am an ideal candidate for this position. Accordingly, let me suggest we meet to discuss the possibility of me joining your company as your Handcrafted Sign Maker.
